Welcome, we're the Foundation To Be Named Later.
Our mission is to raise funds and awareness for non-profit agencies, working on the front lines, serving disadvantaged youth in the Greater Boston area. The Foundation To Be Named Later (FTBNL), a branch of the Red Sox Foundation, was launched in early Spring of 2005 by Paul Epstein, a social worker in the Brookline Public School system, and his brother, Red Sox Executive Vice President and General Manager Theo Epstein. The twin brothers always knew they wanted to make a difference and help young people achieve their dreams – not matter how small or how BIG!
The Story Behind Our Name
In early 2005, after The Red Sox first World Series Win in 86 years, Theo Epstein, the teams’ GM, and his twin brother, Paul decided to launch a foundation to invest more into the community. With so much baseball going on and so little time, they decided to name their foundation after the MLB baseball trade term – the player to be named later, and The Foundation To Be Named Later was born!
